They have useful collections of information within their Social and Human Sciences section on hot topics, news and events, declarations, and reports organized around various themes, such as:
As with most of the United Nations web sites this site might be daunting and quite confusing in its organization at first, but once you spend some time navigating it I think you’ll find that it is full of very interesting and useful information.
Unfortunately the UN hasn’t yet embraced RSS, so you’ll have to keep going tot he site to find new information. But it is well worth the effort.
Examples of some of the documents on the site include:
- The Ethics and Politics of Nanotechnology
- UNESCO Study “Philosophy: A School of Freedom”
- The Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights
Given that November 19th is “World Philosophy Day”, I encourage you to click on a couple of the links next Thursday and spend some time reading about how philosophy on the world stage affects you and your family.
